In earlier days, keeping the data secure with the help of proper back up and making it available for many people was a tedious task especially for those organizations that dealt with large amount of data.  Today you can see several issues that led to loss of data and accessibility troubles for which you need to be careful and keep the information safe at some place.
To cope up with these data loss issues faced by the organizations, the concept of server was introduced. With the help of servers any individual or organization can store the data and access it anytime and anywhere.

What is a server?

Standard- little virtualization with two virtual instances
Essentials- small business for simple administration with no virtualization rights
Foundation- Entry level, general purpose economy server with no virtualization rights.

Features of Windows Server 2012
New Server Manager- In this feature, users can form server groups that consist of servers already existing on the user network. These can be managed via new user experience.
Hyper V-Replication- The features called hyper V Replica enables the user to replicate the virtual machine from one location to another by using Hyper V and a network connection.
Storage Spaces- This can be considered as one of the most important feature under which takes the storage hardware and convert it into a pool of storage which is further divided into spaces.
Dynamic Access control-In this feature access to information can be controlled or restricted. This feature eliminates the tedious task of selecting the Yes/No permission and gives accessibility rights to other users.
IP Address Management: - Windows Server 2012 offers an IPAM suite. In this suite users can allocate, group, issue, lease or renew the IP address.
