CCNP / CCIE Security 350-701 SCOR - Its Cost, Prerequisites, Validity, and Scope

Very soon, Cisco Systems will be updating its new Certification exams and on the 24th of Feb, 2020 we will have new exams available to certify in order to become Cisco CCNA, CCNP, CCIE certified.

About CCNA certification, we all know that every track got combined to form a composite exam known as 200-301 CCNA.

But what exactly has been changed with CCNP, professional-level exams? I say, EVERYTHING.

 

Now CCNP exams have been divided into two parts,

• The core exam
• The concentration exam.

For every track, we have a new core and multiple concentration exams among which you can choose one to be a CCNP certified.

What is 350-701 SCOR?

 

For security track, the core certification exam is 350-701 SCOR and it is also known as the prerequisites exam to attempt CCIE Security V6 lab.

During SCOR training, you learn to Implement and Operate Cisco Security Core Technologies.

Cost of 350-701 SCOR Exams

 

Previously to pass CCNP Security Certification exam, aspirants have to clear 4 CCNP exam modules known as 300-206 SENSS, 300-208 SISAS, 300-209 SIMOS, and 300-210 SITCS costing 300 USD each.

In the new CCNP certification exam, the cost varies as per core and the concentration exams,

The core exam, 350-701 SCOR costs 400 USD.

Whereas,

The concentration exams,

• 300-710 SNCF   
• 300-715 SISE
• 300-720 SESA   
• 300-725 SWSA

• 300-735 SAUTO   

Each costs 300 USD each and you have to pass any one of them to become a Certified Network Professional.

Prerequisites of 350-701 SCOR Exams

You will be directly able to attempt 350-701 SCOR Exams, unlike current CCNP security exams which take CCNA Security valid certification as a prerequisite.

Validity of 350-701 SCOR Exams

Exams for professional level certifications are valid for three years from the date you pass. So, your 350-701 SCOR Exams score will be valid for 3 years.

Scope of 350-701 SCOR Exams

The 350-701 SCOR Exams or I say the core exams are now more important as it also serves as a CCIE qualifying exam. It covers topics like,

• Network security
• Cloud security
• Content security
• Endpoint protection and detection
• Secure network access
• Visibility and enforcement

That tests your skills to implement and operate core security technologies. After passing 350-701 SCOR Exams candidates would be offered with Network Security Engineers, Network Security Administrator job roles.
